Wireless temperature sensor

Coin cell | AA | Industrial

Spook wireless temperature sensors use a thermistor to accurately measure temperatures. These sensors are perfect for monitoring ambient temperatures around the sensors physical location.

There are temperature probe versions that come with a length of cable attaching the probe to the sensor. A quad temperature probe sensor provides four independent points of temperature monitoring within the single unit.

  • Accurate to ± 1°C (1.8°F)
  • Available with an external temperature probe

Caution: The temperature sensors are not water proof so for areas that require water resistance either select a sensor in a water proof housing or consider the Spook wireless thermocoupler option.

Greek philosophers were aware of the principles of a thermometer over two thousand years ago when Philo (20 B.C. – 50 A.D.) who was a Jewish philosopher recorded early experiments on the expansion of air with heat. He designed a tube connected to a hollow sphere which was extended over a jug of water. The hollow sphere reacted to being heated by the water.

However, the Italian physician Santorio Santorio is believed to be the inventor of the first thermometer in the form of a thermoscope although his famous colleague and friend Galileo Galilei is thought to have been a major contributor to the instruments design.
